PROJECTS
“We love because He first loved us” — 1 John 4:19
Our work is made possible by our big-hearted ❤️ donors and generous volunteers who allow us to continue serving those in need. It’s because of their charity and kindness we have made positive and life altering changes to the lives of those we serve. Take a look at some of our most recent projects below.
Project Type
Casa Chirilagua
We provide funding for our closest partner Casa Chirilagua for their Middle School Youth Program for all of 2022 as they provide for the youth of families in need; through schooling, languages, mentoring, tutoring, encouragement, and confidence building.
Mother of Light
We are committed to fund a four month internship program where low-income youth will work as interns and will be mentored, tutored, and encouraged. It will allow the interns to develop skills that are transferable to other workplaces, obtain professional work experience, and prepare for college or obtain college credit.
Together We Bake
We partner with Together We Bake to help women develop the skills and confidence needed to enter the workforce.
Grace Episcopal Church
We help low-income families in the Grace Church neighborhood who need assistance. This includes rent, utilities, backpacks for school, gift cards for food, car repairs, etc. until they can get into a permanent local or federal program.
Domestic Violence Safehouse
We assist in the safety of women and children who were abused as they leave a city Safehouse. We provide apartment rents, security deposits, and child care so they can get back into normal routines without returning to their previous homes, allowing them to separate themselves from the abuser.
Lazarus Emergency Financial Assistance at Christ Church
Our Fund supports a family of 5 who have endured multiple traumatic hardships which have forced them to live in their car for the past year. We continue our support for immigrant families who are trying to relocate and are seeking peace and stability.
Local Nonprofits Provide Free Medical Care Program
In partnership with the National Breast Center Foundation, Alexandria Celebrates Women, Neighborhood Health, and Nueva Vida, we plan to assist women with breast cancer and breast issues in getting free medical care and transportation to and from appointments/treatments. (Program launching: October 2022)
