Accomplishments - August 2022

Casa Chirilagua Christmas Distribution

• Disbursed over $202,000 (and counting!)

• Paid rent and utilities for numerous families

• Provided 165 backpacks filled with school supplies

• Sponsored a fundraiser to support the homeless

• Purchased furniture and mattresses for low- income families

• Paid for 3 families' funeral expenses

• Paid for car maintenance repairs for 2 families

• Purchased shoes and winter coats for immigrant families to endure cold weather Provided gift cards (ranging from $100-$500) to those in need to purchase food & medicine

• Funded a part-time employee position to support a partner organization servicing low- income families

• Supported Christmas gifts to low income youths Funded an afternoon youth program for low income children

• Support of Educational Opportunities for Alexandrians (EOA) in awarding scholarships to low income youth, allowing them to attend two years of community college

• Working with National Breast Center Foundation to provide free breast care for those unable to afford it

• In January 2022, we created & funded a new department at Domestic Violence Safehouse, where we assist women and children in departing the program safely and securely.

• Funded a playground for the Domestic Violence Safehouse for mothers and their children to spend quality time together
